Roger Pringle
January 9, 1941 - May 6, 2022
Roger
Pringle was born January 9, 1941 in Iowa, lived for a short time in
California then moved to Albany, Oregon, where he completed most of his
school years.
Roger was an entrepreneur with a strong
work ethic and formed the consulting firm The Pringle Company; he was a
patriot and proudly served in the Oregon Air National Guard. He was a car
lover, both driving and detailing, particularly Porsche's. A sports fan
and fitness buff, he enjoyed earlier participation in and later watching
basketball and golf, plus running, walking, and exercising on his
stationary bicycle.
An avid reader, he read The Wall Street
Journal daily, plus consumed books on business and American history. A
music fan, he often listened to his country western favorites. His work
ethic was formed early in life from his long paper delivery route as well
as from working on neighboring farms. Pursuing his love of athletics he
participated on Albany High School varsity basketball and baseball teams.
He credited several fine coaches and farmers for instilling discipline in
his life.
A lifelong Beaver fan, he attended OSU
undergraduate where he was living group president and a fierce sports
intramural competitor, then earned his MBA at the University of Oregon.
Over the years he felt privileged to
serve on several corporate and company boards of directors and was honored
to work with many outstanding colleagues and clients both in this capacity
and in his consulting practice. Many interactions with others were
enhanced by his ever present sense of humor.
Roger is survived by his wife, Sheryl;
daughter, Anne Mastalir; and grandchildren, Ava and Jake; also by
brothers-in-law, Bob Jacobson, Bill Jacobson (Kristie); nephew, Bill
Jacobson; nieces, Toby Turner (Scott), Cory Willson, Kaety Jacobson (Mark
Farley) and their children. The family will hold a private service in
Kapalua, Maui, Roger's favorite place in the world.
