BEAVERTON, Ore., Feb. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Epitope, Inc. (Nasdaq: EPTO) today announced that Robert J. Zollars, executive vice president and group president of Cardinal Health, Inc., Dublin, Ohio, has been appointed to Epitope's board of directors. Mr. Zollars joins the Epitope board having nearly twenty years of health care industry experience with major organizations such as Cardinal Health, Baxter International and American Hospital Supply Corporation. Through his prior business experience, he has gained an extensive understanding of the health care industry and medical diagnostic markets, and has developed numerous domestic and international contacts that will assist in expanding Epitope's business around the world. Additionally, Mr. Zollars has a demonstrated ability to manage complex businesses to improve overall value and returns. A graduate of Arizona State University and John F. Kennedy University, he has been active in professional and community affairs throughout his business career. Mr. Zollars was appointed to the board of directors to fill a vacancy left by the previously announced retirement of R. Douglas Norby on February 17, 1998. Mr. Zollars' initial term will run until the 1999 annual meeting of shareholders, at which time he will stand for election for a full three-year term.
